Simply Maldives 2025/2026 Flexible Deposit Policy
  • I was completely overwhelmed after spending what feels like best part of 3 months researching about where to stay in the Maldives. After reading their excellent reviews (which I was a bit sceptical before but completely understand now), I gave Simply Maldives a call. After a 10 minute phone call they asked for my requirements and found the perfect fit for me. They sent me 3 options with room and resort videos they’d personally taken. Before the trip they sent me detailed instructions on immigration forms and other requirements.

The resort we went to was just beyond perfect and all my special requests had been catered for down to a tee. I wish I had found them sooner but now we already have another trip booked with them. Thank you so much.

The Maldives for families

Simply Maldives holiday guide

The Maldives is a sovereign archipelagic nation set in the warm Indian Ocean. Composed of 26 naturally formed atolls with over 1190 islands and sandbanks. Each island here is unique in its own way, featuring coral reefs, some of the best diving sites in the world, lush tropical island fauna and a wonderfully rich and diverse culture.

It't not just all island sunbathing here either, here in the Maldives you can enjoy unique watersports, sailing, yachting, snorkelling and more in the famously crystal clear turquoise waters of the lagoons. with a diagram illustrating the average monthly temperate and rainfal

Flight Information

4 major airlines fly every day to the Maldives from most UK airports.  British Airways fly Direct from London Gatwick between the peak season of 1st Nov & 31st March every year, Emirates depart from all major UK airports three times a day, every day all year round. Simply Maldives recommends departing at either 14:30 or 16:50 in the afternoon and arriving into Maldives (via Dubai) at 07:40 or 9:30am for the smoothest travel experience (and to have a first full check in day in the Maldives). Flights with Qatar Airways and Etihad Airlines are also available twice a day, everyday, from all major UK airports.

Do I need visa ?

British citizens do not require a visa to travel to the Maldives

Traveling in the Maldives

Transfers from the international airport to the resorts are by seaplane, speedboat or domestic flight. Due to weather restrictions and flight schedules you may have to wait for some time before your transfers, most. resorts have lounges at the airport with drinks and food available to purchase, you can even request dinner ahead of time if necessary. All Simply Maldives prices always include all taxes and transfers.

Before you go

  • seaplane, speedboat, and domestic transfers give a luggage allowance of 20kg plus 5kg per person (any excess may charged for at approximately $4 per kilo and/or transferred later)
  • when you're packing remember that dress codes may be applicable at some restaurants at your resort, however we recommend only packing one pair of 'nice' shoes as most of the resorts enjoy a barefoot policy around the island
  • if you're planning to visit any local islands and observe the rich Maldivian culture make sure to pack some modest wear, there's no need to cover up completely, just dress modestly and appropriately for the climate

Health and safety

  • Pregnant women should talk to their doctors to ensure that they understand the very small risk of Zika transmission in the Maldives although there is no evidence of any current Zika outbreak in the country it is still important to be aware of the risk, resorts have almost eradicated mosquitos on their islands but precautions should still be made like bringing insect repellent and asking the resort for mosquito bite measures in your room like nets and spray
  • All travellers should be up to date with all routine vaccinations and boosters as recommended in the UK, specific vaccines that are recommended include the following for all travellers: Tetanus
  • The sun here in the Maldives is strong all year round, so to avoid sunburn we recommend bringing factor 50 waterproof sunscreen with you, although most resorts do sell them on the islands it can be much more expensive than bringing your own as all products need to be imported, if you're prone to sunburn take precautions, measure your time in the sun and bring aftersun care products
  • According to the gov.uk website the most common problems faced by British tourists in the Maldives are lost passports and swimming and diving-related incidents. You can combat this by ensuring you keep your valuables in your in-room safe and always be aware of the dangers of swimming and diving, before going into the water check for currents and rip tides, never dive alone or without prior training
  • British consular support may be limited as there are no dedicated consular staff in Maldives. However, appropriate assistance is available through the Honorary Consul or through the British High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka, however, if you need urgent help because something has happened to a friend or relative abroad, contact the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in London on 020 7008 1500 (24 hours)
  • Ensure that you always take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance before you travel
  • If you're thinking of hiring a yacht or a sailboat ensure that you have planned your route beforehand and you steer clear of any designated High-Risk Areas
  • If you need emergency medical assistance during your trip, dial 102 and ask for an ambulance. You should contact your insurance/medical assistance company promptly if you are referred to a medical facility for treatment
  • Occasional flash flooding has occurred on low-lying islands during periods of particularly heavy rain. If there is flooding you should follow the advice of the local authorities
